Topa Group is partnered with a commercial AV integrator, seeking an experienced Commercial Audio Visual (AV) System Designer to join their growing team. This fully remote role focuses on designing reliable and scalable AV solutions for healthcare and municipal projects across Southern & Central California.

Responsibilities

Design complete commercial AV systems from concept through construction documentation
Develop detailed system drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD
Create accurate bills of materials, system configurations, and project documentation using D-Tools
Design and specify Crestron-based control systems, including system architecture and device selection
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, programmers, and field teams to ensure design intent is met
Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and coordination calls as needed
Ensure designs meet industry standards, client requirements, and applicable codes
Support projects across healthcare and municipal environments with a strong focus on reliability and long-term serviceability

Qualification

AVIXA CTSCTS-D certificationCommercial AV system designAutoCAD proficiencyD-Tools experienceCrestron system designHealthcare AV design experienceMunicipal project experienceCommunication skillsOrganizational skillsWork independently

Required

AVIXA CTS or CTS-D certification (CTS-D strongly preferred)
Proven experience designing commercial AV systems
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD for AV construction drawings
Hands-on experience with D-Tools for system design and documentation
Demonstrated experience designing Crestron systems
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projects
Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred

Experience designing AV systems for hospitals, healthcare facilities, or municipal projects
Familiarity with California-based projects and permitting processes
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for commercial AV deployments
