Responsibilities
You’ll provide expert guidance on federal and state financial regulations impacting fintech products, including: UDAAP/UDAP, FCRA, Reg Z, Reg B, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, Privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, state-level analogues), Emerging Rules/Regulations, Familiarity with CFR
Partner with compliance teams to support regulatory examinations, audits, and risk assessments
Monitor emerging laws and regulatory trends, proactively advising internal teams
Review marketing collateral and websites to ensure compliance with applicable laws
Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements, including: Vendor and partner contracts, Data privacy and security contracts (DPAs), Marketing and affiliate agreements
Ensure contract terms align with regulatory, operational, and risk requirements
Be familiar with and provide updates to company terms of use and privacy policies
Form and manage corporate records for subsidiaries and affiliated entities
Maintain corporate formalities and advise on structuring issues
Support corporate initiatives including acquisitions, investments and financing transactions
Work closely with product, engineering, design, and marketing teams to identify risks and enable compliant innovation
Translate legal concepts into clear, actionable business guidance
Support incident response, fraud strategy, data-governance discussions, and policy development
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
JD from an accredited law school; active member of the State Bar of California in good standing
3–8+ years of experience in fintech, financial services, or a related regulatory environment
Knowledge and familiarity with: UDAAP, FCRA, TCPA, CCPA/CPRA, CAN-SPAM, Privacy and data-protection standards
Experience managing a diverse commercial contracting workload
Experience with corporate formations and transactions
Ability to work independently and with cross functional clients
