Legal Intern - Corporate and Institutional Law Team

InternUNDP is the United Nations lead agency on international development, working in 170 countries to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. They are seeking a Legal Intern to support the Corporate and Institutional Law Team, assisting with legal matters related to contracts, disputes, and policy reviews.

Responsibilities
Review of documents, including standard and non-standard legal instruments and contracts in relation to arrangements with vendors, contractors, consultants, donors and other entities, entered into further to UNDP’s operations and activities
Support in the review of disputes and claims
Conduct legal research on complex issues and drafting legal documents and communications
Support training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to promote awareness of UNDP’s legal framework among internal stakeholders, including with respect to legal templates
Provide general support to the C&I Team on ongoing matters, knowledge management and team operations
Qualification
Required
enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor's degree or equivalent) in law
enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master's programme, or higher) in law or a related subject
enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program in law or a related subject, and undertake the internship as part of this program
have recently graduated with a university degree (a master's or bachelor's degree or equivalent) and, if selected, must start the internship within one year of graduation
Previous experience working in a legal context is an asset
Knowledge of the organization of the UN system, and specifically UNDP, is an asset
Fluency in written and spoken English is required
Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an advantage
