Senior Accounting Manager
NOW CFO is partnering with Redwood Community Action Agency (RCAA) to find a Senior Accounting Manager who is passionate about mission-driven work. This hands-on leadership role involves managing core accounting functions, strengthening processes, and ensuring the organization's financial health while collaborating with various departments.

Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day accounting operations and support the development of accounting staff
Maintain the general ledger and oversee accurate, timely month-end and year-end close
Prepare clear, thoughtful financial reports and presentations for leadership and the Board
Support grant tracking and job costing efforts (training provided—curiosity and willingness to learn are key!)
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and support audit preparation
Ensure compliance with GAAP, grant requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis
Help strengthen internal controls and promote consistent, best-practice financial processes across programs
Qualification
Required
Accounting experience in nonprofit, construction, or other multi-funding-source environments
Experience supporting or leading external audits
Strong grant accounting background; openness to learning job costing if not already experienced
Experience with MIP (Abila) or a comparable accounting/ERP system
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Prior experience leading or mentoring accounting or finance team members
Preferred
Familiarity with GAAP and Single Audit requirements
Experience presenting financial information to executive leadership or boards
Exposure to fund accounting, cost allocation, and multi-program financial structures
Understanding of nonprofit operations and government grant reporting
