Phaxis is an investment banking client seeking an AVP of Derivative Settlements. This role is responsible for overseeing daily settlement functions supporting global derivatives trading activities, leading a high-performing team, and driving risk mitigation and operational improvements.

Responsibilities

Lead a high-performing Settlements team to ensure timely and accurate settlement of derivative and foreign exchange (FX) cashflows

Oversee pre-settlement payment affirmations, post-settlement investigations, and compensation claim processing

Drive a strong risk mitigation framework, proactively identifying and escalating breaks and exposure risks

Utilize and oversee a variety of industry-standard platforms (e.g., SWIFT) and internal proprietary systems

Identify, recommend, and implement operational improvements to enhance scalability, accuracy, and efficiency

Participate in technology initiatives and system enhancements, including UAT and project testing

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline required

2+ years of experience in financial services, with a minimum of 3 years in Derivatives or FX Settlements leadership roles

Strong understanding of derivatives (OTC and listed) and foreign exchange instruments
