Senior Software Asset Manager
Take2 Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Software Asset Management (SAM) Engineer to support a large federal government agency. This role focuses on delivering enterprise-level Software Asset Management using the ServiceNow platform, specifically ITSM and SAM Professional, and involves managing the full software asset lifecycle to ensure compliance and optimization.

Responsibilities
Support the development, configuration, and management of the ServiceNow SAM Professional module
Implement and optimize software request and fulfillment workflows across ServiceNow ITSM and Service Catalog
Create and maintain software asset records, software models, and entitlements within ServiceNow
Utilize the ServiceNow License Workbench to perform reconciliation, monitor compliance, and remediate out-of-compliance findings
Ensure accuracy of software discovery data and relationships within the ServiceNow CMDB
Lead software harvesting and reclamation efforts using ServiceNow Reclamation Rules
Maintain software license contracts and maintenance agreements within ServiceNow
Develop automated compliance and utilization reporting using ServiceNow Dashboards and Performance Analytics
Research licensing rights including upgrade/downgrade and virtualization scenarios to ensure accurate Right-to-Use (RTU) calculations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in ITSM or Software Asset Management (additional experience may substitute for a degree)
Current ITIL 4 Certification
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITSM and SAM Professional
Strong understanding of the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
Advanced knowledge of the full software asset lifecycle
Deep understanding of licensing models for major vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, and IBM
Knowledge of ISO 19770-1 and ITIL frameworks
Experience with discovery tools such as ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM/MECM, or Tanium
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred
ServiceNow CIS-SAM or Certified System Administrator (CSA)
IAITAM CSAM or CHAMP certification
Experience with SQL or advanced ServiceNow Reporting and Performance Analytics
Ability to translate SAM data into cost-saving and compliance insights
Experience presenting complex compliance data to technical and executive stakeholders
