Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, water heaters, boilers, and related equipment across multiple client sites
Read and interpret blueprints, building specifications, and technical documentation to execute plumbing installations and repairs
Respond promptly to emergency plumbing situations and troubleshoot complex system issues using diagnostic skills and problem-solving expertise
Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems, backflow devices, and sprinkler systems while documenting findings and performing necessary repairs
Complete work orders, inspection reports, and third-party documentation using computer systems and maintaining detailed maintenance records
Collaborate with vendors, site personnel, and clients while providing exceptional customer service and technical guidance on plumbing system maintenance
Ensure strict compliance with NJ plumbing codes, safety procedures, and client specifications while participating in on-call rotation schedules

Qualification

Required

Valid New Jersey plumbing license or equivalent certification with demonstrated expertise in commercial plumbing systems
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial/industrial plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair
Proven ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays with reliable attendance
Strong technical skills in reading blueprints, schematics, and building specifications for complex plumbing projects
Experience with backflow prevention devices, sprinkler systems, and water-based heating systems (boilers, water heaters)
Proficiency in basic computer applications for work order management, reporting, and documentation
Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to respond effectively to emergency situations

Preferred

Additional certifications in backflow prevention, cross-connection control, or sprinkler system inspection
Experience working in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated facility environments
Knowledge of building automation systems and integrated facility management practices
Previous experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to interface professionally with clients and vendors
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and environmental compliance requirements in commercial facilities
