Responsibilities
Representing the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members
Providing trade specific system design: layout (utilizing CAD/BIM); calculations (utilizing appropriate software); and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external) in collaboration with more senior technical staff
Preparing calculations, reports, and specifications
Performing fire suppression system selection, preparing preliminary designs, and creating performance specifications
Consulting on areas such as preparation of existing facility diligence, sustainability analyses, and feasibility reports
Producing drawings consistent with client requirements and standards
Providing engineering support for more senior engineering staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a mechanical discipline
Minimum of 3.5+ to 7+ years experience working in a consulting firm
REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP experience
Possesses sufficient knowledge to prepare red-line markups for CAD personnel to pick-up
Knowledge to read, review and evaluate floor plans, sections, and elevations and visualize three-dimensional space in building construction
Possesses expertise in trade specific design and calculation software
Demonstrates ability to make proper system selections
Demonstrates ability to understand the work of the other trades
Exhibits a thorough understanding of applicable codes
EIT required
Preferred
Knowledge of SKM Software and ability to perform Short Circuit coordination and Arch Flash Studies
PE preferred
