Principal Analyst, Gen AI Trust and Safety
Google is seeking a Principal Analyst for their Gen AI Trust and Safety team. In this role, you will collaborate with various teams to identify and address safety challenges across Google products, driving initiatives to enhance user safety and reduce abuse rates.

Responsibilities
Lead projects and cross-functional initiatives within Google, interacting with senior stakeholders. Use technical judgment to drive project delivery, challenge proposals and identify risks, manage multiple interdependent projects, and scope against crashed timelines
Come up with a short & long-term strategy for critical initiatives and unpack it into projects and deliverables for the team. Become the go-to person for issues related to the area of the business and provide partners with insights and analyses
Perform complex data analyses to derive insights that help identify and fight abuse across our products. Analyze and debug escalations and identify trends that can indicate bigger product risks
Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage. This role works with sensitive content or situations and may be exposed to graphic, controversial, and/or upsetting topics or content
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
10 years of experience in data analytics, trust & safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, or related fields
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD
Education in, or experience with, machine learning
Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g. Python)
Experience working with engineering and product teams to create tools, solutions, or automation to improve user safety
Experience using statistical analysis and hypothesis testing
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment
