Assist Director Development
Advocate Aurora Health is a leading nonprofit integrated health system in the United States, formed by the merger of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health. The Assist Director Development will be responsible for identifying and cultivating major gifts and corporate sponsorships, while also developing and executing fundraising events and strategies.

Responsibilities
Identifies, cultivates, and solicits major gifts or corporate/foundation sponsorships
Develops, implements, and executes events and programs in support of development activities and executive fundraising strategies
Works collaboratively with the other development staff, leaders, volunteers and key Medical Center leaders to identify and cultivate individual donors and corporate and foundation relationships, identify fundraising needs and formulates proposal strategies
Prepares platform strategic plan including goals for dollars raised, etc. Manages regular platform team meetings to ensure execution of plans for annual fund raising, events/activities, communications, donor relations, and major/leadership fundraising
Supervises assigned employees. Monitors performance and provides on-going performance feedback. Supports career development efforts. Conducts annual evaluations for direct report(s)
Represents and translates Medical Center fundraising priorities to regional and national audiences
Directs the publicity of major and principal gifts and corporate/foundation sponsorships
Identifies new high-potential donors. Develops prospect cultivation plans
Engages and leads assigned advisory groups in fundraising activities
Works with the Development and Alumni Relations Communications group as well as PR and Marketing staff to develop a communications plan and associated fundraising marketing materials
Performs other duties as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with five years' fundraising experience required
Valid driver's license
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Self-starter
Adeptness in working with high net worth individuals and faculty/physicians
Possesses negotiating, organizational, analytical and fund-raising skills
Strong presentation abilities
Ability to supervise the work of others
Experience leading volunteer fundraising boards
Ability to work in a complex environment with the personal and technical skills necessary to establish priorities, set objectives, and achieve stated goals
Strong political acumen
Ability to relate research and program goals to external audience
Capacity to build and maintain long-term relationships
Ability to move multiple projects forward
Preferred
Fundraising experience in an academic medical center, children's health organization, cancer center or with corporations/foundations preferred
Advanced degree preferred
Experience with capital campaigns preferred
