Responsibilities
Manage a heavy docket of construction-related matters, including defect litigation, contract disputes, and bond/lien claims
Navigate North Carolina state and federal court systems, including expert-level e-filing and a deep understanding of local North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure
Organize high volumes of technical documents, project files, and blueprints; manage the exchange of evidence and document production
Prepare exhibit lists, trial binders, and witness files; coordinate directly with expert witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Maintain accurate records of daily activities and billable time to ensure all client-related efforts are documented as a routine part of the day
Qualification
Required
3–7+ years of litigation paralegal experience, with a strong preference for those who have worked on Construction or Commercial litigation matters
Extensive, recent experience working specifically within the North Carolina court system
Strong skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel for managing data) and standard litigation support platforms
Preferred
Bachelor's degree or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program is preferred
