Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers in the planning and design of transportation projects
Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather relevant data for project analysis
Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, reports, and specifications
Utilize engineering software and tools to perform calculations and simulations
Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met within established timelines
Stay up to date of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in transportation engineering
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is required
Strong academic background with a focus on transportation engineering coursework
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or other relevant tools
Knowledgeable in transportation engineering design of urban and rural roadways
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, but not required
Knowledge with INDOT projects is a plus
