Director, K-12 Program Implementation, CJIL
The Jewish Education Project is devoted to ensuring that Jewish education evolves to meet the needs of the community. The Director of K-12 Program Implementation will lead initiatives to broaden the delivery of professional development and resources in collaboration with K-12 schools, focusing on fostering inclusive educational environments.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison between CJIL and NYCPS district and school leaders, ensuring consistent, responsive, and values-aligned communication
Build and maintain relationships that foster collaboration, trust, and long-term engagement with CJIL’s work
Identify opportunities for CJIL to partner with schools and districts on professional learning, pilot programs, curriculum implementation, and student experiences
Facilitate focus groups, advisory sessions, and other engagement opportunities to surface needs, gather insights, and inform CJIL’s program design
Represent CJIL at meetings, conferences, and events with educational leaders and system partners
Work collaboratively with the CJIL team to ensure educational partners’ needs are met and our engagement has its intended impact
Collaborate with CJIL leadership to develop and execute outreach and partnership strategies aligned with the team’s goals
Develop and execute a plan to broaden and deepen delivery of professional development, resources and direct-to student experiences from partner content providers across districts, school buildings and associations
Manage timelines, deliverables, and documentation related to development and execution of a plan to broaden and deepen delivery
Use data and feedback from districts, schools, and educational content partners to inform continuous improvement and growth strategies
Share insights from the field to strengthen CJIL’s understanding of school system needs and priorities
Contribute to planning for the evaluation and scaling of CJIL’s work across the NYCPS landscape
Monitor progress, track outcomes, and provide recommendations for improvement
Co-design and help lead CJIL-sponsored school and district-level professional development, conferences, and other events
Facilitate partnership between educational content providers and school system leadership for the delivery of programs by educational content providers
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure events and initiatives are well executed and achieve desired outcomes
Collaborate with the CJIL team and other departments on communication and evaluation related to programs and events
Contribute to planning for the evaluation and scaling of CJIL’s work across the NYCPS landscape
Monitor progress, track outcomes, and provide recommendations for improvement
Contribute to the positive, learning-oriented team culture that values curiosity, initiative, and mutual support
Collaborate across departments at The Jewish Education Project to align CJIL’s work with broader agency initiatives
Actively participate in internal meetings, trainings, and events as a representative of a team that strives for excellence in professionalism and congeniality
Supervise growing K-12 team
Take on additional responsibilities as needed in a growing, dynamic division of the agency
Qualification
Required
10+ years of full-time professional experience in or adjacent to K–12 public education. Candidates with experience in K-12 educational sales will also be considered
Experience either in school systems including leadership roles such as principal, district administrator, central office staff or in K-12 educational organizations with experience as a senior leader securing delivery of content
Demonstrated success building partnerships and leading collaborative initiatives across multiple stakeholders
Understanding and appreciation of the priorities, pressures, and opportunities facing NYCPS or comparable large, urban school systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience facilitating meetings and trainings for school or district staff
High emotional intelligence, good judgment, and a solutions-oriented mindset
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage diverse tasks with impeccable attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling seamless professional interactions with senior-level partners and educators
Comfort using digital tools for project management, data entry, design, and communication (experience with ClickUp, Salesforce, or similar platforms a plus)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly
Understanding of or interest in learning about Jewish identity, Jewish history, Israel, antisemitism, and how these topics relate to K–12 public education
