Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery: Teach General Math courses to middle and/or high school students using an engaging, content-rich approach

Student Engagement: Foster a classroom environment that encourages problem-solving, logical reasoning, and a love for mathematics

Assessment and Feedback: Develop and administer robust assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents

Founding Team Collaboration: Play a pivotal role in establishing the school's culture, contributing to school-wide initiatives, and collaborating with fellow founding teachers to create a cohesive and supportive academic community

Professional Development: Actively participate in professional learning opportunities and school-wide meetings, continually seeking to improve instructional practices

Student Support: Serve as an advisor or mentor, guiding students in their academic and personal growth within the BASIS model

Required

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major or significant coursework in Mathematics or a related field

A profound passion for the subject matter and an ability to convey complex mathematical concepts in a clear, compelling, and engaging manner

Exceptional classroom management skills and an ability to create an organized, highly focused, and positive learning environment

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

A collaborative spirit and a commitment to working as part of a dynamic, founding team

Preferred

A Master's degree is highly desirable

Prior teaching experience in General Math at the middle and/or high school level is strongly preferred

Experience teaching advanced placement (AP) or honors-level courses is a significant asset
