The Sr. Assistant, Procurement is responsible for managing the movement of recyclable materials, ensuring high levels of customer service while liaising between various stakeholders including suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities
Managing the movement of recyclable materials generated through the converting production process to internal Smurfit Westrock mills and external customers
Scheduling pickups weekly as per allocations provided by sales team
Serving as the first point of contact for suppliers and customers to satisfy their needs and expectations
Developing and nurturing positive and collaborative relationships with all internal and external capabilities such as Logistics, Accounting and Sales
Liaising between Sales Team, Supplier and Customer, communicating and facilitating resolution on all pertinent issues
Building and maintaining relationships with assigned accounts and proactively monitoring activity to ensure that all counterparty information is current in the system
Assisting with onboarding of new accounts by collaborating with Sales Team and Master Data Team
Aiding suppliers, customers and carriers with payment and invoice inquiries and discrepancies
Working in conjunction with other departments and locations to resolve disputes in a timely fashion
Assisting with training of new hires
Participating in in-house continuing education to further knowledge and skills
Qualification
Required
High School diploma
Microsoft Office – Intermediate or higher proficiency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
Typing – High Proficiency
Strong ability to learn new systems

Preferred
BA/BS or equivalent experience in a high-volume customer service or support environment
