Events Intern

Responsibilities

Assists in planning, logistics, coordinating, and implementing various company-wide events in accordance with financial and time restraints
Research vendors and venues
Coordinate and compile information for various company awards
Assists in scheduling, planning and implementing the corporate calendar of events
Ensures meeting and event spaces are set up and broken down in a timely manner
Performs other job-related duties and special projects as needed
Reports to work when scheduled and on time

Required

College student majoring in Event Management or Hospitality Management
Commitment to the Hy-Vee Mission and a willingness to promote the values of the company
Ability to work a variable work schedule
Excellent communication proficiency - verbal, written, and interpersonal
Organizational and multi-tasking skills
Highly organized and systematic thinker
Ability to work independently, lead a team, and work well in a team capacity
Must be able to project a professional manner and appearance, and communicate effectively with clients, staff and the general public
Computer proficiency: E-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook
Knowledgeable of standard office equipment and programs, including calculator, telephone, copier, fax, and PC with Microsoft Office programs
Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, normal depth perceptions
Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 50 pounds, and frequent standing and walking
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
Has access to confidential information
