MEP Electrical Engineer
PTS Advance is partnering with a well-established MEP consulting firm in the Orlando market to identify an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of complex building systems projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile commercial, institutional, and mixed-use developments while collaborating with a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Responsibilities
Design electrical power, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems for building projects
Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and calculations
Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and equipment sizing
Coordinate designs with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and architectural teams
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, Florida Building Code, and local AHJ requirements
Support construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site visits
Participate in client meetings and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle
Mentor junior engineers and designers as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
5+ years of experience in MEP electrical design (consulting environment preferred)
Strong working knowledge of NEC and building electrical systems
Experience with commercial, healthcare, aviation, education, or industrial facilities is a plus
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Preferred
Experience working with Florida-based projects and AHJs
Familiarity with power distribution, lighting controls, and emergency systems
