Undergraduate Systems Engineer - Strategic Systems

Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, MA. The Production, Mission Operations and Enhancements Division is seeking a highly-motivated undergraduate or graduate student for a full-time 3-month summer internship to support guidance, navigation, and control systems test equipment tasks.

Responsibilities

Develop system and subsystem test equipment or test equipment components

Mechanical or electrical design of test equipment

Hands on, in lab integration, testing and data analysis

Assist with the integration of lab hardware and infrastructure

Gain knowledge of GN&C systems from a test and evaluation perspective

Develop test plans and procedures

Analysis of system test failure reports

Evaluate and research system integration and test architectures for future strategic systems and sensors

Required

Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in engineering, computer science, math, or physics

Basic programming skills in MATLAB, Python, Labview

Comfortable using new software and tools

Preferred

Coursework in electrical, mechanical or software design

Lab experience and hands on experience with network, logic analyzers, or other laboratory equipment

System analysis or systems engineering coursework

Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE), Simulink, real time simulation

Integration and test experience

Familiarity with Inertial Measurement Systems and Sensors

Data Architecture, data acquisition, processing and analysis
