Responsibilities

Collaborates with the campus community to design and implement integrated solutions that connect University systems with third-party vendor products and custom applications
Responsible for deploying, upgrading, and supporting containerized Apache Tomcat applications through automated DevOps pipelines
Managing Kubernetes orchestration in cloud environments
Ensuring the performance, security, and availability of Oracle database systems
Monitoring and tuning database performance
Implementing automation
Applying security patches
Designing and migrating data
Enforcing database security standards
Developing and testing backup, recovery, and disaster-prevention strategies
Emphasizes continuous professional development and contributes broadly to the operational success of the University

Required

A Bachelor's degree is required
At least two years of information technology experience is required
The ability to apply creativity and logic towards troubleshooting complex issues is required
The ability to manage multiple concurrent and competing projects and priorities is required
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills is required
The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding information processed, stored, and accessed is required

Preferred

Demonstrated expertise in database administration and management is preferred
Web server administration and management is preferred
Linux server proficiency is preferred
CI/CD/Dev-Ops proficiency is preferred
Troubleshooting complex systems is preferred
Knowledge of Ellucian's Banner software suite is preferred
The ability to perform the duties of an Oracle and MS SQL Server Database Administrator is preferred
Proficiency with SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Ansible, and Terraform languages is preferred
Proficiency with command line (Bash, PowerShell) interfaces and scripting is preferred
Automated dev-ops pipelines and Docker containerization is preferred
