Treasury Operations Assistant (Temp)
Redwood Trust, Inc. is seeking a Treasury Operations Temp to join their Treasury team. This role involves managing liquidity, funding, and financing operations, with a focus on daily cash management and structured finance strategy within a mortgage finance platform.
Responsibilities
Monitor wire requests, prepare wire back-ups and ensure requests are properly documented and routed for approval
Process and maintain accurate wire counterparty set up and monitoring, including performing call backs as needed
Scan, organize, and archive wire confirmations, check copies, and other transaction records
Manage weekly paper mail processing, including opening, reviewing, scanning, and secure disposal of documents
Save and organize derivative reporting in accordance with internal procedures
Support the management of whole loan warehouse lines, including assisting in tracking and reconciling warehouse transactions
Prepare and track bailee letters for loan sales, ensuring timely delivery and receipt confirmations
Ensure all transactional files are properly saved and backed up for audit and compliance purposes
Support Treasury team with ad hoc data entry, reporting, and documentation needs
Maintain organized shared folders and ensure consistent file naming and storage practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
0-2 years of relevant experience in treasury, accounting, banking, or financial operations (internships and co-op placements considered)
Interest in mortgage finance, structured products, or capital markets preferred
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); exposure to treasury management systems and ERP platforms is a plus but not required
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with close attention to detail
Self-starter with a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach to problem-solving
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and external partners
