Responsibilities

Perform major and minor preventive maintenance and repairs by troubleshooting cabling system issues Identify, track and remove abandoned cables

Able to test every newly installed or relocated cable in accordance with established procedures

Keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards

Develop in-depth knowledge of National Building Codes and standards

Record time and materials used

Update work status on a team SharePoint site and ServiceNow Ticketing system (must have experience and be able to close tickets)

Requires some schedule flexibility for very occasional after-hours testing (one of the two team members can come in later to accommodate the afterhours)

There are no break/fix duties

Required

Experience with racking and stacking enterprise networking gear

Must have solid knowledge and experience in structured cabling

Structured cabling knowledge and experience

3+ years of Data Center Technician work

Able to learn and catch on quickly

Previous experience documenting and closing out tickets in ServiceNow

Must have flexibility to work occasional after-hours testing
