Entry, Mid, Senior LevelPennington Biomedical Research Center is part of Louisiana State University and is seeking a faculty member for a tenure-track or tenured position in AI Engineering. The successful candidate will develop a recognized research program in VLSI for Artificial Intelligence and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical engineering.

Responsibilities
Develop and sustain a nationally and internationally recognized research program in Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) for Artificial Intelligence with an emphasis on low-power, energy-efficient, and secure architectures for intelligent systems
Teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels in areas of electrical engineering courses, with priority to courses aligning with expertise
Supervise and advise graduate and undergraduate students, and supervise postdoctoral researchers
Publish research in highly ranked journals and conference proceedings
Collaborate with industry, national laboratories, and government agencies
Participate in University service, including committee activities
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field
Applicants who are all but dissertation (ABD) and will complete the Ph.D. by the time of appointment will be considered
Demonstrated potential for establishing an independent, externally funded research program in VLSI for AI or related areas
Strong potential for high-quality teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels
4 years of experience beyond Ph.D. for Associate Professor level
A strong record of peer-reviewed publications and sustained external research funding for Associate Professor level
Demonstrated leadership in collaborative or interdisciplinary projects and evidence of effective teaching and graduate student supervision for Associate Professor level
Recognition at the national level for contributions to the field of VLSI, circuits, or AI hardware for Associate Professor level
Commitment to mentoring junior faculty and advancing the division's strategic goals for Associate Professor level
8 years of experience beyond Ph.D. for Full Professor level
A distinguished international reputation for scholarly excellence and impact for Full Professor level
Proven track record of sustained research funding, high-impact publications, and technology transfer or industrial collaboration for Full Professor level
Demonstrated academic leadership in shaping research programs, mentoring faculty, and advancing education for Full Professor level
Evidence of significant contributions to professional societies or national initiatives in the field for Full Professor level
Valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and maintain that valid work authorization throughout employment
