Thermal Systems Engineer II

Blue Origin is working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems for the benefit of Earth. The Thermal Systems Engineer II will support the design, build, and test of lunar vehicles, coordinating thermal hardware and analysis products into the overall vehicle design while ensuring alignment with interfacing subsystems.

Responsibilities

Ownership of thermal subsystem artifacts such as the master equipment list, and other documents
Ensuring alignment and synchronization of thermal subsystem design data with interfacing subsystems such as Electrical Power, Liquids, Gas and GNC
Documenting and automating processes for updating interface control data across subsystems
Reviewing system level CONOPS information and distilling into useable datasets for consumption by the thermal analysis team
Collecting and documenting hardware temperature limits for hardware across the vehicle

Required

Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable disciplines
Demonstrated understanding of aerospace design, development and verification processes
Understanding of spacecraft thermal design concepts and thermal control techniques
2 years of experience in relevant industry role(s)
Demonstrated ability to drive solutions and overcome challenges and obstacles encountered during the execution of assigned tasks

Preferred

Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable disciplines
4 years of experience in relevant industry role(s)
High level communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated experience working interface control
Demonstrated experience with spacecraft thermal control hardware design and development
