Responsibilities

Lead and manage all hotel engineering and maintenance operations
Implement, document, and enforce SOPs, ensuring consistency across the department
Maintain and oversee preventative maintenance programs and long-term asset care
Train and educate the hotel team on basic maintenance standards and proper procedures
Monitor departmental performance, ensuring the engineering team meets goals and targets for success
Address guest priorities and urgent maintenance requests promptly and professionally
Manage vendor and service contracts, ensuring accountability, quality, and cost control
Maintain building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety
Enter invoices and related documentation in a timely and accurate manner
Collaborate closely with the General Manager and Operations team to support overall hotel operations

Required

Prior experience as a hotel Lead Engineer or equivalent leadership role in commercial facilities, hospitality, or large-scale building operations is required
Proven experience managing preventative maintenance programs
Experience managing vendors and contractors, including scopes, timelines, and quality control
Strong working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety
Ability to lead hands-on repairs and train staff effectively
Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
High School Diploma or equivalent (technical school or trade experience preferred)

Preferred

Hotel engineering experience strongly preferred
Experience with VRF rooftop units, specifically Petra-made systems
Experience supporting a newer or recently renovated property
Bachelor's Degree, Technical School, or equivalent trade experience
Bilingual (preferred, not required)
Experience with luxury or lifestyle hotel brands
