Senior Director, Operations Business Lead - Supply Chain

Responsibilities
Serve as the executive-level operational partner to Marketplace leadership, translating business strategy into actionable supply chain plans, operating models, and capability roadmaps
Lead development and execution of long-range operational strategies to support Marketplace growth across fulfillment, transportation, inventory, customer operations, and 3PL ecosystems
Identify and resolve enterprise-level operational constraints; champion scalable solutions that strengthen network reliability, speed, and cost efficiency
Oversee Marketplace readiness for new programs, assortment expansions, and emerging fulfillment models, ensuring operational capabilities scale with business need
Lead executive relationships with 3PL partners, establishing performance expectations, contractual frameworks, roadmaps for improvement, and investment priorities
Negotiate capacity, service levels, operational costs, and strategic initiatives with 3PL senior leadership to support evolving Marketplace requirements
Monitor multi-site 3PL performance and implement corrective actions for underperforming nodes
Sponsor complex cross-functional initiatives that improve order fulfillment accuracy, delivery speed, customer experience, and operational efficiency
Partner with Engineering, Product, and Technology teams to enhance OMS/WMS/TMS functionality, data visibility, automation, and operational analytics
Drive continuous improvement programs using structured methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, operational redesign)
Lead the development of executive-level Marketplace supply chain dashboards, KPI frameworks, and performance governance mechanisms
Maintain strong executive relationships across Supply Chain, Marketplace, Finance, Merchandising, Customer Experience, Transportation, and Technology
Represent Supply Chain Operations in enterprise steering committees, strategic planning forums, quarterly business reviews, and long-range investment discussions
Ensure alignment across business units for major operational changes or initiatives impacting Marketplace
Oversee annual budgeting, resource allocation, and long-term capital planning for Marketplace-related operational units
Ensure appropriate staffing, organizational structure, and capability building across Directors, Senior Managers, and operational teams
Lead operational scenario modeling, volume forecasting, capacity planning, and risk mitigation strategies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Mgmt, Analytics, or similar field OR equivalent work experience
12+ years of supply chain, logistics, or relevant operational leadership experience
7+ years leading multi-layer teams (Managers, Sr Managers, Directors)
Proven track record developing and executing operational strategies that support business growth
Demonstrated success managing high-volume or complex 3PL operations
Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting performance metrics and operational KPIs
Experience presenting to senior executives and leading cross-functional initiatives
Preferred
Master's degree (MBA or equivalent)
Experience in high-growth e-commerce or Marketplace environments (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, Target, Shopify ecosystem)
Experience leading large-scale process transformation, automation initiatives, or network design
Familiarity with OMS, WMS, TMS, supply chain analytics platforms, and enterprise planning systems
Lean/Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement credentials
