Responsibilities

Assist in study execution; collects samples from and administers agents to research animals as IACUC approved studies require

Works with a variety of animal species and tasks will involve both in-vivo and in-vitro procedures

Documents laboratory work to acceptable standards and maintains laboratory/medical equipment and supplies in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols and regulations

Assist in administrative functions of study execution such as labeling collection tubes and transporting supplies to appropriate area

Required

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of relevant post high school education (college, university or technical school) in a science curriculum or one (1) to five (5) years of equivalent work experience in a research, commercial or hospital laboratory; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained

Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a part of a team

Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and other heavy equipment, pushing, bending, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, outdoor work, working in extremes temperature and humidity

Must be able to wear a respirator and protective clothing or equipment

A Post-offer physical and background check/security clearance are required

Ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB) is required
