Responsibilities
Reviewing developer plans
Reviewing streetlight design
Reviewing electric distribution design
Overseeing capital construction projects
Assisting with streetlight maintenance as requested
Coordinating projects with engineering consultants, contractors, power and communication utilities
Developing project cost estimates
Developing equipment specifications and standards
Evaluating photometric properties to ensure compliance to standards and specifications
Complying, verifying and assembling complex information
Producing and reviewing routine and specialized reports
Applying policy, program or plan effectiveness based on complex data
Making recommendations and issuing reports
Assuring that all aspects of assigned projects are in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations
Performing other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in engineering
Three years of engineering experience
Some assignments may require a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record and a valid Commonwealth of Virginia Driver's License within 30 days of hire
Preferred
Five (5) years of progressive experience in the assigned technical field
Some assignments may require a valid Commonwealth of Virginia Commercial Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
May require license as a professional engineer
May require certification in engineering-related specialties
