Responsibilities
Lead and ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable safety regulations
Serve as a subject matter expert across core safety programs, including LOTO, confined space, hot work, fall protection, PPE, contractor/construction safety, electrical safety (NFPA 70E), and ergonomics
Oversee environmental compliance related to waste management, emissions, and pollution control
Support permitting and regulatory requirements, including RCRA, SPDES, chemical and petroleum bulk storage, and Title V air permits
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and standards
Conduct workplace inspections and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA); identify hazards and implement corrective actions
Design and deliver EHS training for employees and contractors
Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement and leadership collaboration
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and regulatory reporting
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills
Track EHS metrics, maintain compliance records, and recommend program improvements aligned with regulatory and industry best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
10+ years of progressive EHS experience, preferably in an industrial or utility environment
Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, training delivery, risk assessment, and compliance systems
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
CSP, CIH, or similar professional certification strongly preferred
