Internal Admissions Director LTC

Aventura Health Group is seeking an Internal Admissions Director to manage the facility’s internal admissions process and drive census growth through strategic sales and marketing initiatives. This role involves overseeing admissions, developing marketing strategies, managing referral relationships, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with clinical leadership.

Responsibilities

Oversee all internal admissions from referral intake through patient acceptance and placement
Assess clinical appropriateness, payer eligibility, and bed availability
Collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure safe, appropriate admissions
Monitor daily census, bed utilization, and admission targets
Identify trends impacting admissions and develop strategies to improve conversion
Develop and execute internal sales and marketing plans to support census growth
Promote the facility’s clinical programs, outcomes, and service lines to referral sources
Work closely with external marketers and leadership to align messaging and goals
Identify new referral opportunities and service line growth areas
Represent the facility at meetings, presentations, and community or hospital events
Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital case managers, discharge planners, physicians, and payers
Serve as the primary internal contact for referral status and follow-up
Proactively address referral concerns, objections, and denials
Ensure consistent, professional communication with all referral sources
Ensure admissions and marketing practices comply with CMS, state, and payer regulations
Maintain adherence to ethical sales practices and anti-kickback statutes
Review admission documentation, authorizations, and medical records
Ensure accurate tracking of referrals, admissions, and outcomes
Lead, train, and support admissions and intake staff (if applicable)
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, respiratory, and physician leadership
Participate in census planning, budget forecasting, and performance improvement initiatives
Serve as a key contributor to leadership and strategy meetings
Track and report key performance indicators including referrals, admissions, conversion rates, and denials
Analyze market trends and competitor activity
Use data to adjust sales strategies and improve referral penetration

Required

3–5 years of experience in healthcare admissions, business development, or sales
Demonstrated success in healthcare sales, marketing, or census growth
Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Solid understanding of clinical criteria and payer requirements
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Strategic thinking with a data-driven mindset
Proficiency with EMR, CRM, and admissions tracking systems

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Business, Nursing, or related field
LTAC, acute care, or post-acute experience
