Responsibilities
Effectively communicates and interacts with all levels of staff including senior management
Oversees accounting staff including staffing, evaluating, disciplining, and dismissing
Organizes and assigns work to accounting staff
Ensures accounting staff meets expectations and key responsibilities
Performs introductory and annual performance evaluations of staff in addition to regular off-cycle reviews
Encourages, motivates, and develops staff to the maximum of their ability; leads by example
Manages accounts payable activities; responds to all vendor inquiries
Reviews, verifies and enters transaction details
Maintains accurate account ledgers
Prepares, analyzes and distributes G/L and A/P reports and statements; prepares ad-hoc analyses as requested
Assists CFO with budget preparation
Follows instructions and maintains acceptable level of performance; meets deadlines
Performs special projects and other tasks as assigned
Complies with and enforces all company policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
Possesses 10 or more years accounting experience
Through understanding of all Accounting and Principles of Accounting Techniques and Procedures
Knowledge, skill, and ability to operate a PC and applications including Excel, Access, Peachtree, Cash Pro, On Line Bank of America
Interacts successfully with all levels of management
Responds positively to direction and supervision
Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good organizational and oral and written communication skills
Possesses a Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
