The State of Indiana is one of the largest employers in the state, offering a range of opportunities. The HMIS Intern will develop a data dashboard, create learning materials, and collaborate with regional partners to enhance data visualization related to homelessness in Indiana.

Responsibilities

Develop a data dashboard or dashboard template for partners across the state of Indiana

Create learning materials around using the data dashboard

Work with regional partners to evaluate the final product

Become familiar with HMIS and run reports as needed to get data

Create and prepare datasets to be plugged into Tableau

Assist in making visuals and conducting analysis for the State of Homelessness for the Indiana Balance of State presentation

Research and present to the HMIS team what other continuums of care are doing related to data visualization

Required

Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree and must have completed at least two years of study in one of the following fields: Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Machine Learning, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics or similar

Experience with Tableau or Power BI or both

Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and R

Experience building dashboards

Strong understanding of statistics
