Rapid Prototyping Controls Engineer
Akkodis is seeking a Rapid Prototyping Controls Engineer for a Contract with a client in Romeo, MI. This role requires strong expertise in HIL commissioning or rapid prototyping using Speedgoat or MicroAutoBox.

Responsibilities
Define and document hardware and communication architecture between sensors, actuators, and prototype ECUs using Boundary Diagrams, Interface Specifications, and Schematics
Perform HIL bench commissioning and flashing software on Speedgoat or MicroAutoBox platforms for prototype ECU integration
Design, develop, and validate MATLAB/Simulink models targeted for real-time execution on Speedgoat hardware
Integrate developed models into prototype ECUs and ensure seamless communication with IPEMotion or Vector Data Acquisition systems
Utilize CANape, CANoe, and IPEMotion tools for calibration, diagnostics, data acquisition, and functional validation
Execute bench validation, troubleshoot issues, and support debugging/root cause analysis, while preparing validation reports and technical documentation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
8–12 years of experience in automotive controls engineering, HIL validation, and rapid prototyping
Strong hands-on experience with Speedgoat or MicroAutoBox platforms for HIL commissioning and bench validation
Proficiency in CAN/LIN communication protocols, debugging methods, and tools such as CANape, CANoe, and IPEMotion
