Principal Technical Program Manager - AI for Member Systems (AIMS)

Responsibilities
Partner on Vision & Strategy: Collaborate closely with AIMS leadership to define and refine the team’s vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for AI-driven member experiences
Lead Planning & Execution: Own planning cycles, set clear objectives and key results (OKRs), and drive execution across multiple AI initiatives (e.g., recommendations, personalization, search, and GenAI-powered experiences)
Drive Organizational Alignment: Establish and facilitate effective operating cadences (planning, reviews, status updates, leadership touchpoints). Connect teams, align leaders, and proactively surface risks, trade-offs, and opportunities
Foster Cross-Company Collaboration: Coordinate with partner teams across product, engineering, design, content, and platform to align goals, manage dependencies, and integrate AIMS capabilities into member-facing experiences
Scale Processes as the Team Grows: Design and refine scalable, lightweight processes that enable a highly technical, research-oriented team to operate effectively at production scale—minimizing bureaucracy
Lead End-to-End AI Programs: Guide AI initiatives from concept to launch, ensuring customer needs are understood and that launched experiences are measured, iterated, and improved
Support Budgeting & Resource Allocation: Partner with AIMS and cross-functional leaders to inform investment decisions, headcount planning, and initiative prioritization, providing data-driven insights on trade-offs and impact
Communicate with Senior Stakeholders: Create clear, compelling narratives and updates for senior leadership, translating complex AI work into business and member impact
Qualification
Required
10+ years leading complex, cross-functional technical programs in product, Engineering, platform, AI/ML, or related engineering organizations, with experience as a strategic partner to senior executives and leaders
2–3+ years working with AI or GenAI initiatives, collaborating with research, data science, or engineering teams. Comfortable engaging in technical discussions
Ability to connect high-level company goals to a clear AI roadmap and concrete programs. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shaping direction
Proven success aligning product, engineering, research, and business partners around shared goals. Able to influence senior leaders without formal authority
Experience establishing and evolving operating rhythms, processes, and tools to help organizations execute effectively on complex, multi-year initiatives
Skilled at communicating with clarity and energy to diverse audiences, simplifying complex topics, framing trade-offs, and telling a compelling story about AI's impact
Preferred
Experience in AI-forward or high-scale consumer technology companies
Background in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field (degree or hands-on experience), or significant practical exposure working closely with technical teams
Experience in customer- or partner-facing roles, with a track record of understanding stakeholder needs and building trust
High energy, curiosity, and a growth mindset; excited to learn and help shape how AI is built and applied at Netflix
