Waco District-Technical Project Manager I-Belton Area Office

The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a Technical Project Manager I for their Belton Area Office to manage and oversee various engineering projects within Bell County. This role involves leading a team of inspectors, ensuring project compliance with regulations, and managing project budgets and schedules.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Coordinates with local Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) to develop annual Transportation Improvement Program and long and short-range transportation plans for the area
Compiles and distributes project information, status reports, and project budget expenditures
Consults with Project Engineers, resident project representatives and contractors' superintendents on work progress and construction problems; reviews equipment utilization data and time/cost estimates
Directs, develops, implements, and evaluates project budgets, schedules, work plans, resources requirements, and cost estimates and projections
Monitors and manages project cost and quality to ensure project is completed within budget and to ensure deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications
Oversees construction project assignments, determines work requirements to complete projects and coordinates scheduling to accommodate projects already underway
Provides technical assistance in resolving construction problems related to contract administration
Works with Federal Highway Administration representatives to ensure compliance with regulations
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline
5 years construction project management; project management, process engineering and/or business process improvement methodologies
