CAD Engineering Technician
Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for a CAD Engineering Technician position supporting the electrical renewable project design team. This role involves preparing detailed technical drawings and collaborating with engineers and project teams to ensure project requirements are met with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineers, designers and technical staff to develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for renewable projects, including but not limited to physical layouts, cable and wire schematics, electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), general arrangement drawings (GAs), cable routing, and equipment diagrams
Assist in the renewable plant design optimization for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety
Assist engineers with design calculations related to power systems, battery capacities, and thermal management
Review and update as-built documentation after a project is completed
Maintain and update CAD specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) and templates used for the development of renewable design drawings
Maintain design records, title blocks, equipment specifications, and version-controlled drawings
Prepare bill of materials (BOM), plan and section views for procurement and construction teams
Collaborate with engineering team to ensure designs comply with relevant standards and codes (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC)
Support quality checks to validate design drawings are complete and accurate
Qualification
Required
Two-year technical degree in Drafting/Design or currently enrolled in a technical drafting program
5+ years of drafting/design experience in electrical, mechanical, or energy storage systems
Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or SolidWorks
Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Ability to produce accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or similar tools
Understanding of wind, solar, or BESS equipment and basic electrical system design
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and timelines
Effective teamwork and collaboration
Reliable high‑speed internet if working remotely
Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA)
Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S
Preferred
Background in renewable energy projects (Wind, BESS, Solar, or grid infrastructure) preferred
