Responsibilities
Oversee both the Municipal Water System (MWS) and South Bay Water Recycling (SBWR)
Ensure efficient operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance, engineering, and long-term planning for the city’s drinking and recycled water utilities
Manage capital improvement projects (CIP)
Manage an operating budget exceeding $70 million
Lead a senior leadership team that includes the Chief Water Operator, Principal Engineer, and Senior Environmental Program Manager
Develop rate models
Advance infrastructure projects
Collaborate with policymakers and external agencies
Qualification
Required
Experience in leading water resources management, including oversight of municipal water systems and recycled water utilities
Proven ability to manage capital improvement projects and operating budgets exceeding $70 million
Strong leadership skills with experience managing senior leadership teams
Ability to develop rate models and advance infrastructure projects
Experience collaborating with policymakers and external agencies
Strategic and visionary leadership skills
Ability to build consensus and foster collaboration across operational and maintenance teams
