The Lease Abstraction and Data Intern will support the Lease Administration team by assisting with lease abstraction, data validation, and system maintenance using AI-enabled tools to enhance data workflows and accuracy.

Responsibilities
Assist the Lease Administration team in reviewing, interpreting, and abstracting key business, financial, and legal terms from commercial leases using AI software
Utilize AI tools to extract data from lease documents and PDFs, applying standardized prompts and workflows to ensure consistent and accurate outputs
Collaborate with the team to refine prompts, workflows, and processes that improve the accuracy, efficiency, and usability of AI-generated lease data
Input, update, and maintain lease information, documents, and key terms within Yardi
Ensure data integrity by conducting routine audits and cross-checking entries against source documents
Translate AI-extracted lease information into structured formats, including tables and data fields, for upload and maintenance within Yardi
Support the monitoring and tracking of critical lease dates to help ensure timely notifications and compliance
Assist in generating reports and maintaining dashboards to support visibility into upcoming milestones
Participate in various portfolio-related initiatives, including data cleanup, process improvement efforts, and system enhancements aimed at improving operational efficiency
Contribute to research, analysis, and documentation that support strategic decision-making within the real estate portfolio
Provide general administrative support to the Lease Administration team as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to review documents and abstractions with a high degree of accuracy
Capable of managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and critical dates within a dynamic real estate portfolio
Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate software platforms such as Yardi
Comfortable working with AI-enabled tools and document-processing software to support data extraction, validation, and workflow efficiency
Comfortable performing data audits and supporting report generation
Strong data management skills, including organizing information into structured formats such as tables and system fields
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn lease terminology, structures, and operational fundamentals of real estate portfolio management
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred
A Junior enrolled in a four-year or five-year undergraduate program in the graduating class of 2027 is preferred
