Production Operations Manager

Responsibilities

Ensure all operational activities align with the Company's Quality System, Safety and Environmental Management System, and applicable U.S. and international regulatory requirements
Partner with Quality leadership to ensure compliance with cGMP practices and their effective implementation throughout manufacturing operations
Monitor weekly production schedules in coordination with Planning and Logistics to ensure timely and reliable customer service
Resolve escalated operational issues promptly, coordinating with internal departments as necessary to minimize disruptions
Lead and/or support investigations related to manufacturing exceptions, product failures, root cause analysis (RCA), and customer complaints at the appropriate level, ensuring complete and accurate documentation
Track and evaluate shift production metrics to identify operational issues and implement process improvements
Create, manage, and control the departmental budget, implementing strategies to support cost-effective production
Ensure all employees are properly trained in job-specific responsibilities as well as company policies, quality standards, and safety and environmental requirements
Conduct departmental meetings and skip-level meetings to support communication, alignment, and employee engagement
Establish a clear vision by aligning departmental goals and objectives with site strategies through effective performance management, and identify and implement career development plans for direct reports
Coach and support supervisors in best practices to promote a safe, efficient work environment and effectively resolve production challenges
Foster an empowered, high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives across areas of responsibility, including but not limited to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, TOC, SMED, 5S, and OEE
Lead or support special projects as assigned by the Plant Director, including Lean Manufacturing initiatives, Six Sigma projects, and safety-related programs
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including suppliers, Finance, and other internal departments, to align production activities with business objectives and market demands
Provide input into strategic decisions impacting the area of responsibility

Required

Bachelor's Degree required in Manufacturing, Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing operations experience in Pharmaceuticals, preferably within a cGMP-regulated environment
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience
Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and cGMP requirements

Preferred

Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus
