Field Sales Manager

Responsibilities
Leads Sales Specialists through consistent in-field observation and full-day ride-alongs to coach performance in real time
Provides clear, actionable feedback on presentation flow, objection handling, customer interaction, and closing strategy
Documents ride-along coaching takeaways and ensures follow-through on improvement plans
Maintain consistent coaching cadence through 1:1s, role play, call review, and performance follow-up
Serves as on-call support for Sales Specialists, including methodology guidance and first-line approval for scope-of-work and discount requests within established guidelines
Partners with the Sales Director to identify performance gaps and align performance improvement plans
Takes responsibility for team results by driving strong appointment execution and field support
Reinforces high standards for appointment quality to improve close rate, average ticket, and overall conversion
Provides real-time guidance and button-up support during appointments to help Sales Specialists overcome objections and close the sale
Serves as the Sales Director’s eyes and ears in the field by identifying trends, opportunities, and execution gaps and communicating needs and priorities in real time
Supports appointment assignment and coverage planning with sales leadership
Conduct demonstrational appointments to model best practices and elevate team performance
Covers overflow appointments as needed to prevent lost revenue opportunities
Supports cancel-save and critical recovery appointments as assigned
Maintains selling involvement at a level that supports the team without detracting from coaching responsibilities
Develops Sales Specialists continuously to improve skill, confidence, and consistency, with a focus on elevating individual and team performance
Identifies skill gaps and executes targeted development plans through coaching, reinforcement, and repetition
Co-leads sales meetings and leads recurring team huddles to reinforce priorities, skills, and execution standards
Supports onboarding and ramp plans for new Sales Specialists and acts as backup for formal sales training sessions as needed
Ensures training concepts and standards are consistently applied and improved week over week in the field
Assists with customer escalations related to sales expectations, communication, scope clarity, or appointment outcomes
Reinforce accurate expectation-setting and documentation standards to reduce cancellations and prevent downstream issues
Partners with Operations and Customer Experience teams to resolve sales-related issues and improve handoffs
Identifies recurring customer friction points tied to sales execution and reinforces improvements through coaching and process alignment
Qualification
Required
Consistent history of strong sales performance and KPI achievement
Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching, and developing others through feedback and follow-through
Strong understanding of sales execution, customer experience, and performance improvement
Able to work a flexible schedule with appointment and ride-along availability Monday-Saturday, plus on-call support as needed (including Sundays during peak season)
Ability to obtain and maintain active Maryland and D.C sales licenses
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation to drive consistently throughout our territory (MD, VA, DC)
Ability to obtain and maintain personal auto insurance coverage that meets company-required limits
Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and have a clean driving record (MVR)
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
Experience leading an in-home sales team
Experience selling in a one-call close model
Home improvement industry experience
Experience with Salesforce, Siro and/or Rilla
