Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day crew operations, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and reallocating resources as needs shift, including emergency response situations
Promote a safety-first culture. Monitor site conditions, conduct safety audits, ensure proper use of PPE, and ensure compliance with federal/state guidelines
Train, coach, and evaluate technician performance; provide input into performance reviews and enforce disciplinary actions when required
Oversee installation, troubleshooting, programming, and repair of traffic signal control systems, including controllers, detectors, conflict monitors, fiber optics, CCTV, MVDS, and street lighting
Coordinate wiring, cabinet inspection, timing plans, and microprocessor system configuration using work plans, blueprints, and manufacturer specs
Test functionality, quality, and system compliance; approve modifications and ensure performance standards
Serve as the liaison with engineers, supervisors, contractors, utility companies, and city officials
Communicate project updates to Field Services management and respond to disturbances or malfunction
Perform additional on-site duties as directed by the project manager and other members of the Field Services management team

Technical knowledge of traffic signal systems, ITS components, electrical circuits, and fiber optic installations
Demonstrated experience managing crews and keeping the crew on task and motivating them to work as high performers
Troubleshooting expertise in diagnosing and repairing traffic signal controllers, detection systems, and communication networks
Electrical and mechanical aptitude for working with wiring, cabling, and electronic components
Safety awareness and ability to follow industry standards, codes, and safety protocols when working near live traffic and electrical systems
Reading and interpreting plans including schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
Proficient use of tools and equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, splicing tools, and hand/power tools
Communication skills for interacting with team members, supervisors, and customers effectively
Problem-solving ability to identify issues quickly and implement practical solutions under time-sensitive conditions
Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks such as climbing, lifting, and working outdoors in varied weather conditions
Adaptability to work independently or collaboratively in dynamic environments
