Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and detailed quotes based on customer drawings, specifications, and requirements
Develop complete job routers outlining manufacturing processes, operations, tooling, and sequencing
Partner with Outside Sales to understand customer priorities, target pricing, and competitive dynamics
Collaborate with Programming and Operations to validate cycle times, setups, machining capability, and production feasibility
Work with Purchasing to obtain current material pricing and outside processing (OSP) quotes (heat treat, plating, grinding, etc.)
Coordinate with Inside Sales to confirm quote details and align on delivery commitments
Maintain the quote log and participate in weekly review meetings tracking win/loss ratios, turnaround time, and pipeline status
Identify cost-reduction and value-engineering opportunities during the quoting phase
Continuously improve quoting accuracy through refined templates, standard costs, and historical data
Support production handoff by ensuring routers, BOMs, and OSP requirements are complete and accurate for Planning
Qualification
Required
5+ years of estimating/quoting experience in precision CNC machining
Must have a CNC Machining background (5 Axis)
Strong understanding of machining processes, GD&T, materials, and outside processing
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and customer specifications
Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail
Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Self-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple quotes simultaneously
Preferred
Experience with Global Shop or JobBOSS is a strong plus
