Responsibilities
Engages with cross-functional business stakeholders and technical teams to understand and address complex initiatives within a business unit or at the enterprise level. Participate in discussions to gather requirements, develop solutions, validate technology assumptions, and evaluate implementation alternatives. Influences solution strategies by leveraging in-depth business knowledge and practical experience in solution engineering
Leads multiple technical projects simultaneously by prioritizing and coordinating solution engineering efforts across teams and initiatives. Uses established performance metrics to measure effectiveness and make necessary adjustments. Manages non-functional requirements and ensures compliance with industry standards throughout the solution development and delivery process
Acts as a servant leader for the solution by ensuring Agile Release Trains operate effectively. Identifies and resolves constraints across the development and delivery process while collaborating with Release Train Engineers to coordinate delivery. Provides a systems view of the development lifecycle to guide technology delivery and align architecture with business objectives. Serve solutions with one or more Agile Release Trains or business units
Develops and refines technical designs to meet business requirements for complex solutions while ensuring scalability and performance. Collaborates with developers and Agile Release Trains to align solutions with enterprise architecture. Works with DevOps teams to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines that streamline deployment and integrate new features. Engages with quality assurance teams to validate that technical solutions meet performance and reliability standards
Supports development and delivery of complex solutions by ensuring technical implementations align with product roadmaps and overarching business strategies. Monitors progress, resolves issues affecting delivery timelines, and contributes to technical problem-solving efforts during development and deployment phases. Collaborates with business stakeholders and technical teams to address challenges and optimize solutions
Maintains technical documentation for solutions to facilitate knowledge sharing and makes updates as architecture or functionality changes. Engages in continuous learning to stay current with trends and technologies in solution engineering. Applies learning to enhance own skills and impact on the quality of work produced. Shares best practices in solution engineering across business units and the enterprise to promote peer learning. Supports pioneering of design and development practices to promote innovation and improvement across solutions. Performs other duties as assigned
Partner with Architecture, and the Guidewire platform team to implement monitoring, alerting, and automation for platform reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency, contributing to a highly available and performant platform
Maintain collaborative and strategic partnerships among customers, vendors, business partners, and technology teams; work closely with vendor teams supporting Guidewire PolicyCenter to ensure adherence to engineering, coding, and platform standards; solve complex engineering challenges across implementation domains
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of experience required in solution engineering, software development, systems architecture, or related
Minimum Hands on experience for 5 years in Guidewire products such as Policy center with Advanced product designer and Jutro digital platform
Hands on experience in either implementing a new PolicyCenter in SaaS model or migrating an on-prem / self-managed Guidewire PolicyCenter implementation to SaaS model
Experience in design and development of Page configuration files, Business rules, Data models and Gunits
Hands on with integrating Guidewire PolicyCenter with external custom portals
Experience in Guidewire's Cloud Data Access platform
Experience in GOSU, REST services, message queues and batch process
In-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles
Must have a strong P&C domain knowledge and experience in implementing various integration and digital technology implementation in multiple places
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Ability to assess, and design and develop new PolicyCenter integrations
Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of system design and engineering principles across various platforms and technologies
Skilled in designing scalable system level patterns and applying data modeling best practices
Collaboration with Enterprise Technical Architects to create and maintain strategic roadmaps, principles, standards and reference architectures - specifically insurance-related architectures, including policy administration systems
Proficient in integrating enterprise applications using modern integration frameworks and protocols
Strong understanding of integration principles and patterns
Solid grasp of UI/UX design principles to deliver intuitive and user-friendly interfaces
Should be able to give custom solutions when necessary
Proficient in designing and implementing complex workflows, UI frameworks, and business enabled configurations using low-code platforms
Skilled in advanced integration techniques, performance tuning, debugging, and DevOps processes across enterprise applications
Experienced in security, authentication, automated testing, version upgrades, managing scalable data models and background processing
Experienced in collaborating with business stakeholders and supplier partners to gather requirements and ensure solutions align with business objectives
Provides technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, guiding solution design, implementation, and adherence to best practices and standards
Strong verbal communication and listening skills. Able to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
Demonstrated written communication skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence business partners, stakeholders, architects, and developers
Demonstrated problem solving skills. Able to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

In-depth knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns
Strong proficiency in one or more phases of the software development lifecycle
In-depth knowledge of multiple systems and their key components
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as PEGA Cloud, AWS, Azure, etc
Preferred
Experience with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams preferred
Bachelors degree preferred in computer science, engineering, or similar field
GW Policy Center Professional certification preferred
