Project Development Manager

Responsibilities

Ability to scope projects based on previous experience and develop conceptual designs and estimates for new projects
Read and comprehend PFD's, P&ID's technical drawings and specifications
Prepare material take-offs, create detailed estimates and preliminary sketches for proposed capital projects for review with internal customers and management
Document the Design Basis for each project
Estimates must be well thought out, organized, logical, clear and concise
Confirm actual field conditions
Oversight and management of 3rd party Engineering assistance
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelors Degree
7 - 10 Years of experience in the petrochemical industry
A minimum of 5-7 years direct capital estimating or project management experience
Detailed working knowledge of mechanical and civil construction
Familiarity with piping/valves and fittings, pipe racks, rail loading racks, truck loading racks, barge dock, ship dock, storage tanks, fire water, jet fuel filtering, horizontal directional drills (HDD), pumps, Motor Control Centers (MCC), variable frequency drives (VFD), SCADA, right of way (ROW), spheres, pig launcher receiver, loading arms, rail design, ethanol blending, vapor combustion unit (VCU), vapor recovery unit (VRU), meter skid, additive injection
Experience in Development of Conceptual Design and equipment layouts for Liquid Terminal Facilities
Experience in pipe sizing, pump, and valve types
Familiar with general Industrial design requirements
Experience in planning and executing engineering for projects
Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
Must complete all Safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locations
Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and estimating software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), high degree of attention to details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules
Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential
Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions
Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies
Must be willing and able to work outside in a Plant environment, in all types of climate conditions, as required for project development and other department activities
Must be willing to become competent in WinEstimator estimating software

Preferred

Win Estimator is the preferred estimating software, but experience with any computer based program will be considered
Liquids Terminals/ Facilities type experience is a plus
