They are seeking a part-time Chemical Dependency Technician to assist clients through the substance and mental health treatment process, managing client behavior and crises as necessary.

Responsibilities

Assist clients from admission through discharge providing client support through the extended substance and mental health treatment process

Supervise and manage client behavior

Help manage client crisis situations when necessary

Assist on-duty counselors as required in direct support of program goals and objectives

Respond in a professional, therapeutic and positive manner to clients under the influence of a controlled substance or struggling with mental health symptoms

React and respond to medical emergencies conveying a positive and professional image to clients, staff and visitors

Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements

Qualification

First Aid/CPR certificationMedication Administration certificateExperience in addiction treatmentExperience in mental healthComputer skillsRelate to diverse backgroundsEffective communication in English

Required

Age 18 or older

Current First Aid/CPR certification and Medication Administration certificate (for Residential only) obtained within 30 days of starting work

Able to pass Minnesota DHS background study

Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds

Physical Demands: Sitting for extended periods of time. Daily use of general office and/or residential facility equipment. Lifting (max 25 pounds), minimal reaching, bending and stooping. Ability to effectively navigate program and office environment such as ascending and descending steps, passing through doorways and entrances, and accessing program/office facilities

Proficiently understand, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English. Able to effectively document services in writing formatted in English
