This internship offers hands-on experience in the legislative process while supporting key responsibilities such as conducting policy research and drafting legislative materials.

Responsibilities
Prepare legislative materials that support the legislative process
Assist with daily office operations, including answering phones and organizing legislative materials
Track memos of support, co-sponsorship requests, and budget requests
Participate in virtual budget hearings and other legislative meetings as needed
Conduct policy and legislative research using tools such as the Legislative Retrieval System (LRS)
Collaborate with staff and fellow interns on larger legislative and research projects
Qualification
Required
Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
Interest in New York State policy, governance and the legislative process
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
Ability to collaborate with staff and other interns in a professional setting
Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program
