Administrative Director of Emergency Services (RN)

Purple Cow Recruiting is seeking an Administrative Director of Emergency Services (RN) for a permanent executive leadership opportunity in Austin, Texas. The role involves providing strategic and operational leadership for a high-volume Emergency Services division, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and overseeing service growth, personnel management, and operational oversight.

Staffing & Recruiting

Responsibilities

Identify and resolve operational and clinical issues affecting Emergency Services with clear follow-through and communication
Participate in hospital-wide and departmental committees, serving as a representative and communicator for Emergency Services
Advance patient experience initiatives within the Emergency Department
Coach, mentor, and develop leadership staff, including performance documentation and individualized development planning
Enforce Human Resources policies and evidence-based employee engagement practices
Communicate departmental, organizational, and industry updates effectively to staff
Build strong internal and external relationships to support departmental and organizational goals
Conduct employee and patient rounding and mentor emerging leaders
Ensure compliance with emergency care standards and develop metrics to monitor performance

Required

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the position you are applying for
Bachelor's degree in Nursing REQUIRED
Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration REQUIRED
Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Services experience REQUIRED
Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience REQUIRED
Current RN licensure in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) REQUIRED
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) REQUIRED

Preferred

Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) preferred

Benefits

$15,000 lump sum
$10,000 for household goods (homeowners)
$5,000 less on each relocation component
17.5% – 26.25% annual bonus potential
