The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Community Center Program Assistant to assist in all Community Center programs. The role involves providing support to visitors, clients, and staff while ensuring the care and well-being of program participants.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the care and well-being of program participants

Identifies and meet individual program participants needs

Provides friendly hospitality to those we serve

Recognizes and provide opportunities for group interaction, problem solving, and decision making

Guides group or individuals in activity plans

Carries out established roles in enforcing facility safety regulations and implementing emergency procedures

Cleans tables and vacuum carpets where necessary

Serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks as needed

Perform other duties as assigned

Maintain cleanliness of all floors throughout the program area, including vacuuming the chapel and sweeping/mopping bathrooms, classrooms, hallways, and cafeteria

Ensure cafeteria cleanliness by washing tables, wiping down chairs and counters, and removing garbage

Clean and sanitize men’s and women’s restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and counters

Perform additional cleaning tasks in other areas as assigned or needed

Required

Minimum of High School diploma/GED desired, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Must be at least 16 years old

Basic computer skills

Ability to obtain and maintain training and certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and Blood Pathogen

Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
