Civil Engineer/EIT - Entry Level
Wightman is a full-service consulting firm dedicated to serving communities through a variety of professional services. They are seeking a Civil Engineer 1 to provide design and plan production for diverse projects, including transportation, traffic safety, and road reconstruction.

Responsibilities
Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering design projects
Assist project team in obtaining civil and environmental permits with multiple agencies
Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering design projects
Perform onsite construction observation or other field verification tasks as needed
Perform AutoCAD Civil 3D design/drafting in support of civil engineering design projects
Coordinate with government agencies, client staff, and other professionals to obtain design information and approvals
Write and edit construction specifications and engineering reports
Tabulate bid items and calculate construction bid quantities from plans and specifications
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Ability to obtain PE license within 4 years of employment
Ability to plan, schedule work, and complete work assignments within established budgets and timelines using discretion and judgment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, surveyors, architects, and technicians
Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in all work tasks
Preferred
0-5 years of experience in construction or civil engineering field
Successfully passed FE exam
