Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance to field engineers and service managers during outage planning and execution for industrial, fossil, and nuclear steam turbines
Act as the technical lead for complex repairs involving rotors, diaphragms, casings, valves, and related components
Serve as the single point of contact for complex repair projects, coordinating with sales, project management, sourcing, quality, and engineering teams
Deliver engineering projects on time while meeting all technical and quality requirements
Function as Project Engineering Manager for steam turbine projects, including capital parts, complex upgrades, engineering studies, and valve solutions
Apply lean methodologies to support continuous improvement with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
Develop inspection and test plans for site assembly/disassembly and service center repair activities
Lead and participate in first-of-a-kind product qualification, design reviews, and technical risk assessments
Support parts engineering and sourcing teams with guidance on design form, fit, and function
Resolve product and process non-conformances and support corrective/preventive actions through root cause analysis (RCA)
Mentor junior engineers and support small, low-risk engineering projects
Travel domestically to customer sites (approximately 5–10%)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
5+ years of experience in steam turbine service engineering
2+ years of field execution experience, preferably in the power generation industry
Experience with CAD tools; CATIA experience is a plus
Preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities
Solid understanding of steam turbine systems and balance-of-plant operations
Hands-on experience with steam turbine inspections, repairs, disassembly, assembly, and startups
Project management experience and ability to work cross-functionally
Respectful, adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn
