CIER-2026-1H Administrative Analyst (Hourly)
The NJ Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an Administrative Analyst to assist in the review and analysis of administrative procedures and performance. The role involves preparing economic analyses related to climate change and drafting reports for various audiences.

Responsibilities
Assist as part of a team or task force in the review, analysis, and appraisal of current department administrative procedures, organization, and performance
Help prepare recommendations for changes and/or revisions
Assist in the preparation of economic analysis as relates to climate change, the benefits of recreation spaces, and other issues related to Department priorities
Assist in the drafting of reports for both internal and external audiences
Assist in maintaining internal literature database and research organization
Qualification
Required
Five (5) years of professional experience involving the review, analysis, and evaluation of budget, organization, administrative practices, operational methods, management operations, or data processing applications, or any combination thereof, which shall have included responsibility for recommendation, planning, and/or implementation of improvements in a business or government agency
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
All U.S. degrees and transcripts must be from an accredited college or university
All foreign degrees and transcripts must be evaluated for accreditation by a recognized evaluation service by the closing date of this posting
Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position
Selected candidates must be authorized to work in the United States per the Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship, and Immigration Services regulations
Preferred
A strong educational background in environmental economics, economics, environmental science, or a related field
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in statistical and econometric software such as R and/or Python
Advanced Excel capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, policy briefs, and presentations
